Green Traffic Light® is an eco-conscious brand that was born from one woman's passion for quality, sustainability and purposeful living. Founded by Elda, a Food Engineer turned green entrepreneur, the brand brings scientific rigour into the world of natural skincare, handcrafted candles and ethical gifts — all made in the UK. It's luxury you can feel good about, inside and out. The brief was to create a brand that encapsulates the ethical quality of the brand.

The brief asked for a full brand refresh for Green Traffic Light®, covering a new logo, a skincare label template for the VERD'ELDA range and three candle label templates for EARTHLOOM Candles, each with two variants.

The core challenge was balancing three strong brand colours, green, yellow and red, in a way that felt eco-conscious and elegant rather than bold and commercial. Red in particular is a difficult colour to incorporate into natural, sustainable branding without it feeling abrasive, so a significant part of my process was finding a palette that honoured the brief while still feeling cohesive and calm.

The brief also required a high volume of deliverables, one logo, four label templates and six label variants in total, all of which needed to feel distinct but visually unified. Maintaining that consistency across two very different product lines, skincare and candles, while giving each its own identity was a real design challenge.

For this concept, I redesigned the logo as a eucalyptus leaf — a shape strongly associated with natural skincare that also carries a subtle resemblance to a traffic light, making it a natural fit for the brand. I explored this form through varying shades of green and yellow to complement the existing colour palette.

The packaging was designed to feel soothing and eco-conscious, with a calm, clean aesthetic that reflects the softness of the logo. Botanical illustrations were incorporated throughout to reinforce the brand's natural and organic identity.

Green Traffic Light® was nominated for the Small Awards 2026 in the New Kid on the Block category, recognising the brand as one to watch in the eco-conscious space and an up and coming small business. Some of the goals of the founder are to showcase her products more in retail and work with companies such as Boots and Holland & Barrett.
